Now I lay me down to sleep. org

On wednesday I received a call from my coordinator for Now I lay Me Down to sleep. I was asked to go take pictures for a little baby girl that was not doing well. I arrived at the Hospice Center to find an amazing mom with a very sick little girl. I remember her mom asking me how hard doing "this job" is, and I think my answer was a little lacking. I said "sometimes it is hard, but not always". I thought about my answer...thinking that was such a dumb answer, but not really. I guess I knew what I meant.

I usually I cry on the drive there and I always cry on the way home. I sometimes cry with the family while taking the pictures and I always cry while editing the pictures and I cry some more when I make their Cd. So, why I said only sometimes it is hard...I don't know. The pain that "My Parents" are going thur at the time that I get to meet them...is enexplainable. Because I have never experienced this kind of loss...I can only explain it as ....helplessly seeing a part of your heart riped from you. That is is.. that is the only way I can explain thier loss. And we are asked not to share our 'personal beliefs while photographing" to respect their privacy and their own beliefs. But, I guess the the other side of my original questions was this.... I have a sweet assurance that bring me comfort, my belive if God...... I know that Heavenly Father loves us. I know the Savior lived and died for us and that "my parents" will see and be with their children once more. I know where their little spirits will be once they leave this earth and it gives me peace to know that if I lost once of my own children, I would belive the same thing. That doesn't make is easy....like I said, I cry a lot with this calling. But I know I have the sweet assurance that their is a purpose to life and once that purpose is thru, we return to our maker. I am so honored to be able to help in the healing process with these amazing families, by giving them these images of their precous babies last moments here on this earth. I have met some amazing people going thru some terrible events in their lives. I hope that I can be strong to serve them in this compacity, to gift them this act of service.

I love taking family pictures. I don't know if it's the little ones that I love so much or the parents...either way, I love doing them. Yesterday...yes! I said yesterday while it rained all day we squeezed in this session. Now, I have 5 children, so I know how important it is to give some camera time to mom & dad. I love to get mom & dad cozy in front of the camera for some rekindling :)
Heather has beautiful eyes, that just stole the camera. Hope you guys like! Had fun with your little guy, he is a great umbrella holder !

Justin & Stacey

Justin & Stacey were married just under the clock at Warner Southern College. The College where they met and both attended together. We did their photography and video for thier wedding..... and when I first met with them, I could see they were so super sweet. I love when I meet with a couple and I just can't wait to get to photograph them. I also love it when after spending the day with a couple...you learn how generous & kind they are to those around them. I learned so many nice thing about them by the nights end. Stacey was stunning and they looked so happy together. We had a fun time photographing and taking the video of their wedding day! And I had to add a picture of their candy bar....I visited their a few times that night!

You know sometimes you have teachers/coaches that are super cool and all the kids love to be around, this one is one of them. Coach LeJune had some of his students now in college, return to have some pictures taken with him. My son loves going to football practice because of this coach. He also came along to help hold my umbrella (it was sprinkling during out shoot)! The guys were fun and absolutley no complaining...if you can believe that!

Bob Jardine for City Commissioner

Today I had the oppritunity to take publicity shots for Bob Jardine and his seeing eye dog Elrod. Bob is running for City Commissioner in the next elections and I think he will do great things for our community. I think he will especially take care of our blind comminity, which I am very familiar with, because my mother is also blind. Go Bob..you have my vote!

This weekend I took family pictures at a church here in town for their congregation. Everyone came in their "Mother's Day Best" and we had a one stop shop for all the families that wanted family pictures. We had a great turn out , met some really geat people that love the Lord & and had lot of fun. Here are a few of the families that had me shoot for them.
